Takana is a crunchy, slightly piquant pickled mustard leaf that makes a great topping for Ramen or for adding a wonderful peppery punch to stir fries and soup dishes. This jarred version from premium Japanese food producer Yutaka is milder than the variety found at our restaurants (we add a fair old pinch of chilli powder to ours), but is delicious nonetheless!
Mustard leaves are low in calories but rich in fibre and are plentiful in Vitamins A, B6, C, E & K. The pickling process preserves the leaves plant compounds and antioxidant properties as well as that all important heat and flavour.
Mustard leaves, salt, water, soy sauce, sugar, sweetener [steviol glycosides], flavour enhancers [Monosodium glutamate, Disodium 5′-ribonucleotides], acidity regulators [citric acid, acetic acid, malic acid], sesame seeds, chili pepper, chilli pepper extract, colour [riboflavins], preservative [potassium sorbate].
Mustard, Soybeans, Wheat, Sesame.
Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days.
